How many BFs are too many?

How many boyfriends does a woman need? I am debating the citrine color which I just saw in the store (when it next goes on discount). I have 3 different sizes in the same wash, and they are in constant rotation. Would you say they've become a wardrobe staple for me, or should I hold off? I know I'll be wearing these long after they aren't trendy because they are and have always been my style in whatever incarnation they took over the decades...

Or do I need an intervention?

In that you feel confident they are truly YOU, and I feel confident that Gap quality is questionable and inconsistent, I would most definitely get another pair in Citrine.

Maybe only ONE pair (do you consider this a more summery wash?). and Maybe your middle size - if that one seems to be the most versatile.

Lol! I really like the citrine wash. I like it better than the darker one. I bought one of each and will keep the second pair if I can figure out how to transition to fall. (I tried it with the Docs this morning (14 eyelet) and thought it looked weird. )

I think that as long as you don't think you are going to tire of this look, that you should go for it and stock up. I think for IT's its kind of the perfect jean because it balances the shoulders. DH thinks my BF are my best jeans (which makes me wonder what he thinks about all of the others....)

Anyway, you have my blessing. Stock up.

Um, I have four pairs. Of True Religions. Three Camerons and one Brianna. I had ordered one more pair in July but sent them back because I realized, 4 is enough. I wear them in all three of my different wardrobe capsules -- for work with a white shirt, casually, and smart casually. This is why I didn't mind paying a lot for them.

Oh, you DEFINITELY need at least one pale boyfriend!

The question is, is he pale like that because he's the beachy, surfer boyfriend?

Or maybe he's the nerdy techie boyfriend who never gets outside.

I think that is the wash i have and i love it... Rugged, RATE. Disheveled, sunbleached BF? What is not to love? I really like lighter bottoms on ITs, too.

Buy them already. You'll be kicking yourself once Gap changes them in some way and stalking ebay. They look great on you, you like wearing them, they fit your style and life. You had to ask?

It all depends on your style/lifestyle. I think in your case, Una, more is probably better. So, if you're really loving them I say go ahead and add another pair.

Can you exchange one of your current boyfriends for one in the citrine wash? I'm thinking that 4 GAP BFs is an awful lot of BFs from the same "family" - and you might want to branch out and try a boyfriend from say, the other side of town - i.e. True Religion, COH, etc. instead.

Marley, that's a good thought! On the other hand, I feel like these work well, so why branch out for most expensive versions? I'm almost afraid to go there!

My denim collection is now only BFs, skinnies, and the expensive Joe's bootcuts that I still wear as dressy jeans. No more straights, wide legs or flares.

Will see how I feel by the next sale - thanks for all the great input and food for thought!

You are making me realize I have truly been missing out, I have zero boyfriends! I have no idea about the staying power of this trend but will be anxious to see what the experts think. I say if you find a pair in a different color on deep discount, why not add another pair. It's obvious you re in love and they love you back.

Una - what wash are the 3 (that you already have) called? Also, are they the exact same style as the citrines? (I'm just doing some "personal" research. Hahahaha!

I don't know the wash of the others, they were all the first crop of BFs because I was in terror of them being discontinued. They've faded out to various shades. Citrine is much lighter.
