Hi!
I always spend a reasonable amount of money on winter shoes, which for me means mainly tall boots. However, I am not keen on doing the same thing with summer shoes.
A workhorse sandal (flat, comfy, easy to wear color) will last me three months. My current g-to sandals were bought at the end of last summer's sale (say, end of July?) and they are already looking old and worn. They were inexpensive but well made, leather, nice cushioned sole, etc. I don't have this problem with wedge sandals or sandals in harder to wear colors, but I have to replace my brown pair every year! To top it off, it's not easy for me to find sandals with good cushioning and tight straps, since I have very slim feet and most shoes fall off them.
Have tried fancier, more expensive brands (Clarks, for instance) and I have the same problem. Actually, my Clarks sandals are really uncomfortable so I almost never wear them no matter how pretty they are. Still, I have managed to destroy them and they look I have worn them a million times.
