Keeping Angie's advice in mind, I bought ten pairs of sandals. I ended up returning seven pairs. Oh, wait, I just ordered another pair.

Then I ordered a skirt and a couple of dresses, and Angie said I had committed the cardinal mistake of not ordering the corresponding top for the skirt. So ordered some tops for the skirt. The skirt arrived and doesn't look great on me. I like the dresses, though. They're both Eileen Fisher, and kind of similar, so maybe I shouldn't keep both, but I think they both look good.

Yesterday I went to Kohl's, looking for a few interesting tops. Instead I came home with Bermuda shorts, capris, and a denim dress.

I pretty much wear a uniform and for this summer I have chosen hightops and boots light weight skirts and lightweight sweaters. I am finished. I do need a few tanks but I'm ready.

*slinks in* I feel like I'm going to confession.

I, uh, have bought five pair of shoes, six tops, three dresses, three skirts, and a boat-load of sweaters. (Six, I think.) I'm also stalking a navy skort from Athleta and plotting another dress from eShakti.

In my defense, Your Honor, several of the shoes and tops and the skirts are wardrobe essentials (well, one skirt is, and I'm hopeful of the other two) and the sweaters are simultaneously wardrobe hole, wardrobe essential, and bold text HEWIs. They've breathed new life into everything I own - I regret nothing. I've also cleared out a significant number of items from my existing wardrobe. (That's not saying much considering what remains, but it's still true.)

Do I win the award for most items?? (Yikes!)

Viva - I can't recommend these booties enough. I'm on my second day in a row of wearing them and they are so, so comfortable. And I have fussy feet. And they are cute and add some pzazz without being overwhelming.

Heh, Ginger I'm going to challenge you. I bought a lot since January too. Some were HEWIs that had been on my list for awhile and aren't necessarily spring clothes but were at great prices and have been worn during late winter/early spring a ton. I few were wildcards I stumbled across. I'm feeling pretty close to done for the year at this point though. Maybe one more bag and some pale shorts, and the right black and white sneakers if the stars align.

7 shoes:
planned for -- non black closed toe sandals/flats for spring/summer and non black ankle boots for year round -- I rely on end of season sales:
-navy suede ankle boots (long term HEWI)
-white ankle boots (long term HEWI)
-leopard calf hair ankle boots (long term HEWI)
-red suede ghillie laceup flats
-powder blue ankle strap flats

wildcard:
-cognac/burgundy laceless oxfords (thrifted - match new burgundy pants)
-navy tory burch ankle strap block heels (consignment) (these actually fill the non-black sandal/flat hole too).

4 jeans:
planned for:
-white skinnies/jeggings

HEWI:
-coated burgundy/brown cropped skinnies

wildcard:
-thrifted cut off powder blue denim flares, might become shorts eventually
-straight dark wash cropped jeans (being evaluated as they are probably too similar to jeans I already have that I planned to cut off. Don't know if it's worth it just for a finished hem)

7 tops:
planned for:
-white short sleeve brooks brothers cotton buttonup (thrifted)
-white long sleeve h&m silk blouse (thrifted)
-white cropped/boxy short sleeve shell for skirts/high waist jeans (a replacement for a t-shirt)
-white pleated strappy camisole/tank (still being evaluated, may return as that's a lot of white tops)

HEWI:
-tunic length chambray shirt

wildcard:
-deep orange shell, mainly layered under things
-off the shoulder powder blue flouncy blouse (still being evaluated, may return)

5 sweaters:
planned for/replacements:
-white lighter knit shorter length long sleeve pullover, cool weather fabric
-navy lighter knit shorter length long sleeve pullover, cool weather fabric
-white pullover, cotton

HEWI:
-lilac/pink chunky/long cable knit sweater - this is a winter into early spring item

wildcard:
-powder blue angora/lambswool pullover (thrifted)

3 Bags:
planned for:
-dark burgundy clutch
-navy cross body saddle-bag

wildcard:
-black and white calf hair bag

2 Belts:
planned for:
-white leather belt
-navy leather belt

1 Coat:
wildcard that's a cold weather basic: double-breasted navy wool coat

I probably shouldn't have bought:
-navy bandeau top jumpsuit -- super inexpensive, has flare, but not needed, and a little fussy.

I just bought a dark denim pencil skirt that's on sale at J Jill. I've been looking for months, and think I've finally found the perfect one.

I feel mostly set for spring/summer - I just added a couple more silky sleeveless tops and have quite a selection of sleeveless tops/blouses and several gauzy weight button downs with long sleeves so I can roll up/down as needed for cold AC situations. I already have aide selection of inexpensive light weight tees and plenty of shorts. I'm veering away (mostly) from graphic tees and sticking with more of the basic solids this year - I have a few with pattern.

My main color palette is navy, white, denim in various washes, charcoal, olive green, burgundy. I've added a couple of touches of gold jewelry this year to change things up from wearing silver.

@Texstyle: I think it's a great idea to limit the color palette, at least somewhat.

LOL rabbit, I think you have! I didn't list my green coat, because it wasn't spring, but I think we can both claim honors. Like you, I do think I'm pretty much done.

I did very little shopping from Jan-March, so I feel like I'm indulging a bit right now, but I am taking Angie's advice to get on these s/s items early. I can already see how sizes in many popular items are already gone.

LOL @ Ginger ! YAY ! That is a celebration, not a sin. : )

I have been 'round here for a long time...5 years or so. And after a lot of experimentation and thinking ( I am my own sartorial think tank ), I am very happy with what I have for the summer. I am going to Europe for a couple of weeks and feel the need to buy ONE piece of clothing. I just received two pairs of shoes yesterday that I am THRILLED with and a bag in a color that I have searched for for a long time. I need good walking shoes while I am there....and I had NO black sandals. GASP !

Otherwise, I am sooooo set and satisfied after years of tweaking.

The clothing is an uber lightweight blue linen jacket that hits at the waist to wears with dresses or tanks. I cannot find a picture of it.

The shoes are as follows : 1) ECCO sandal 2) Lucky Brand perforated bootie.

I've been pretty bad this Spring season! A mini wardrobe worth. 2 new pairs of sandals, 3 new blouses, 3 new maxi skirts, 4 new dresses, 2 new bathing suits so far (high waist bikini and a one piece).

I have had some good luck. I found some updated jeans, both crop flares and high waisted flares. I added 3-4 dresses and 4 blouses. I purchased a pair of block heel pointy toe pumps in neutral taupe/grey to bookend my hair. I found a pair of white cage sandals with block heels. I also found some ankle strap sandals in a light neutral color and a pair of Dorsey style flats. I purchased two simple grey tee shirts and one drapey knit grey cardigan. I purchased two simple casual grey cotton sheath dresses. I also found a new swimsuit.

I'm still trying to decide on whether to keep two jackets. I seem to get the most wear from my cardigans, however, I keep jackets a long time. The jackets are expensive, so I'm on the fence.

I still have two dresses on order. I have focused on dresses because one of my work sites moved and there is no a/c in the new building. I will need to dress in loose, lightweight comfy clothing. For me, that means a dress.

My spring shopping isn't going so well...but that's OK, because I have some extra expenses that I have to take care of. I have been having problems with fit lately--shirts too boxy, rises too long, etc., etc. But I did get a few pieces from Free People (a short-sleeved sweater, a tee, and a denim mini) that I have been wearing lots. I ordered a denim pencil skirt from J. Crew, but it is backordered in my size (wahh!). I am waiting on the sailor flares from Express...hope the rise isn't too long. I ordered a pair of white flares from them too, but I need to exchange them for a different size. Argh!

ETA: I forgot my cropped flares. I forgot about them because it's been too cold to wear them.
