How is this outfit for a business casual interview?

I think it looks great, a good combo. The pants and shoes look a little formal to me but the cute colors on the shirt will balance them out to get a nice casual look.

Looks great. I'd add a jacket, which you can always take off in the interview. But arrive wearing it.

LA is very fashion conscious, so I'd think about a different top and probably add a jacket even not matching. And an interesting but not distracting piece of jewelry. Sorry to say, but I think that outfit is a little blah...might be okay once you get the job.

It all probably depends on a particular place you are interviewing at - your outfit looks traditional ( maybe just right - maybe too much for LA ). I wonder if you do something a bit different in accessories - like grey bag or navy shoes. Or maybe wear "kite' scarf on your neck in similar colors to your shirt ( "kite" scarfs are very narrow, small - could be tied to your bag ). Jacket is good option to have in any case. Good luck!

I think it’s good. I agree with Angie about taking a jacket. If it weren’t LA, I’d say skip the GG-logo loafers, but it’s LA. I used to work for an English banker in the Silicon Valley. It was a rule: no Rolexes, no Gucci, no obvious logos - you get the drift. *Because no one wants to know that’s what you did with their money.* Lol(!)

I agree with the jacket suggestion - black to match the pants is the easiest, but any of the colours in the shirt could work too. Good luck!

BTW, the replies are all in thread ... if you are commenting to someone is particular, the convention seems to have developed to just include their name in bold.

The individual pieces are nice, maybe a little staid for LA, but definitely fine for an interview. I'd personally wear a silk blouse that was less preppy, and add the jacket as Angie mentions. Nice loafers I agree with Rachy though in that it can be tricky to wear such high-end logos for a first interview - it can send the message (inadvertent and incorrect or not) that you might be too expensive a hire (or will be expecting a high salary ) , depending on the company. I''m assuming this isn't a managerial or executive position you are interviewing for?

In my environment , a pastel checked button -up is very preppy . It’s a combination of the colours , the check , the style and the fabric . Preppy isn’t a derogatory term - it’s simply a descriptor .

I had the same thought as Angie. I’d add a jacket. More polished. It does not need to be a blazer. It could be a Moto or bomber, especially if it is leather. I am saying that a casual leather jacket would be good.
