How does this blazer look?

I found this blazer on deep discount at Ann Taylor Outlet. Do the lengths work? It hits at my waist and the sleeves come down to my wrists.

It's a touch big in the chest, DJ. I think that's more due to the thin t-shirt I'm wearing, though.

I bought it. I think I also may have solved part of my jacket problem. This jacket, which amazingly fits in the waist and sleeve is a petite. It looks like I should consider looking the the petite section for toppers so I can get things that actually fit.

If you are short waisted and don't have super long arms, you might indeed find that petites are a good fit! I love the colour of this one on you. It's tough to judge the fit from these photos but it sounds as if you are happy with it, so that is good.

Sometimes I size up in petites for the best fit. Or size down in regulars, if you know what I mean.

If petite jackets fit you better, the dresses might, too. Except if length is an issue.

I often find petite and juniors jackets fit better. I may be over 5' 4" but with my short waist and need for higher armholes, I end up with fit issues. Good to find solutions to our issues. High five!

That's what the SA told me, Suz. She said that I should try sizing up if I was going to wear petites. I'm definelty try dresses, but I'm worried they may be a bit too short because I'm 5'6.

High five Mo! I also bought a regular small cardigan, so I guess it will be one of those things where I'll try both on and see which works.

I think it depends on the store. At Coldwater Creek, for example, I size down for most things--particularly blazers and jackets. For any form-fitting or slim-fitting top, however, I size down to accommodate my bust. It may be that their sizing is different than other stores. I'm not sure anymore. My Express Editor pants are size 4S, and sometimes I can wear regular-sized tops and dresses; it all depends on the overall length. Anything long-sleeved requires a petite size.
