A bit ago, Mochi mentioned trying to find ways to blend her tango wardrobe into her everyday style. Then, Runs With Scissors talked about sewing retro-style dresses and not being able to find places to wear them.

I used to be a tribal style bellydancer, and I still have a lot of the costuming and jewelry in my wardrobe. I loved dressing up to dance and miss the over-the-top maximalism of our costuming, but I think that style comes out in my boho streak... and I regularly wear the jewelry in smaller doses! I used to have even more overlap when I was taking classes and dancing in a troupe.

Just for fun, I'm including some photos of me in full costume. I'm the one in the back of the second photo (orange and green).

How do your hobbies influence your style? Are there subtle ways to bring your hobbies into your everyday?
