I am always intrigued to peek inside others' closets! I am procrastinating (should be doing some writing this afternoon) so I am happy to oblige you with shots from mine :). I actually have two closets at my disposal: one for stuff I'm actively using (current season and currently in the rotation) and one for "run off," or off-season stuff, things I might be getting rid of but just can't part with, old shoes that I think I might need in the future, etc.
My active closet is in the first set of pics (panning from left to right). I have various knits folded up according to type (e.g., basic long-sleeved layering tees, vs. pullover sweaters, vs. sweater vests, vs. cardigans), plus jeans and my dog-walking and lounging clothes (1st pic). I hang all of my current season woven tops by color, along with my indoor jackets (2nd pic). My skirts, dresses, and scarves are also hung up (3rd pic).
My long necklaces are kept in my closet hanging on nails (4th pic). My shoes/boots are semi-organized, mostly at the bottom of my closet (5th pic). Other jewelry is kept in my mother's old jewelry box, along with some "runover space" on the shelf (6th pic). The 7th pic shows my extra closet, full of off-season clothes, etc. etc. (plus some kid-related junk).
Whew! Probably too much information, but there you go :)! I'm guessing you can tell why the "shop your closet" challenge made sense to me this fall--I have more than enough stuff!
