I do belong to Bag, Borrow or Steal (or Avelle) and I have had a pretty good experience. Their customer service has been very good. It has worked for me because I have pretty expensive taste in bags but always want variety. I haven't been using it really this year and I may not continue, but that is only because I'm trying to change my habits and define my wardrobe a bit. I also really like the bags I own and it's a shame not to use them.
I have definitely considering keeping some of the items, but I usually find that I'm ready to give them up after a while. I can always rent them again, but chances are I've moved on to something else. I know some think it is not a good investment, which is true, but if you find you are always spending money on bags and then not wearing them for very long it might work for you.
