How do you color match a pants/cami/sheer top combo?

Need some help with this! Black pants/black cami and bright color top is a no-brainer and I love that look. But I haven't found black pants for summer yet and I want to be able to wear a bright green sheer sleeveless silk top I bought a few months ago. I will try to link it in a minute.

I want to put it with my new dark grey pants. Do I have to find a dark grey cami? That will be a challenge. Or a matching green one?

Would white do? Or black? I'm puzzled!

Okay, here is the top...in the Paris green color. It is more sheer than this photo shows...I really feel the need for a cami underneath.

I'd try a white cami first. That usually works for me. If choosing a green, I would want to sure it didn't darken or muddy that wonderful color. Try things with the top to be sure. Great top.

You could use a nude cami or even yellow or aqua. I'm not sure about black, but with the gray pants, it's worth a try. It will change the color of the green if you are ok with that.

Depends on whether you'll wear it tucked or untucked. Tucked, I might try nude, to avoid changing the color of the blouse.
Untucked, you may want to think about avoiding "grinning" (creating an extra visul line where your cami ends and your pants/skirt waist begins). Here's a great post by Angie on the topic:

With charcoal gray pants and a sheer top, I've worn a lighter gray cami, a navy or marine blue, or black. I've found if the color is generally in the same realm of darkness/lightness, it blends in with the pant color as a background for the top.

I'd probably try nude first. That way the focus is on the top and not the cami.

i think white or nude would work. another way to go might be one of the green tanks from BR. (bonus, they are offering 35% off this weekend).

What FC said - depending on how you want to wear it. Tucked in white , nude or any other pale color should work; for untucked I would go for a cami which is a low contrast with the bottoms.

Thank you all so much. Since I am firmly no tuck so I will try with the black I have and if that doesn't work, look for grey.

I'm a little tempted to try what a sales person suggested abut a different top, that I didn't end up buying,..contrast on purpose, like purple with green. I don't know if I can pull that off but it's worth trying.

(I vote a shade of white for the bottoms. So much fresher than black and grey).

Try a black cami too. Or white.

I love the look of everyone in their white but sort of ruled it out...without even trying...as a possibility for me. In my sweltering location ( and accounting for hot flashes!) white that was substantial enough to not be see through would be too hot to wear.

As in...white denim...too hot, I'd kill myself or someone else. White linen...I could handle it but every pair is sheer.

White crops or shorts or skirt...can't do the requisite shoes.

I don't mean to be a pill, I just have to work with several challenges.
