How do we feel about booties?

I am thinking of adding a second pair of refined, almond toed booties in black.

Are these still current? On trend? Or would i be better served upgrading slipper flats/oxford?

To me they are in different categories. I would think for you even more so. Slipper flats and oxfords just don't provide the warmth that a bootie does. There are booties in the NAS catalog!

These are the ones that appealed to me at NAS. No idea about the brand or comfort level. Just wondering if booties were on their way out.

I remember reading recently -- Angie? Suz? -- that flat / low booties will still be very much on trend this year, so I think you're good -- and I'm glad, because I LOVE them.And I especially love the ones you posted.

Booties in general? I love 'em. They are by far the most practical and comfortable footwear for me. I wear them 10 months of the year. I sure hope they're not on their way out! The boots you linked to are very nice -- they remind me of Beatle boots.

Thanks for asking this. I was wondering the same thing, are booties current enough to invest in several years into the trend? I think they are and I did invest in a couple pairs. I think the toe shape and other details change every few years but I think the basic bootie shape is here to stay (at least for a good long while).

I don't see booties going out of style anytime soon, Thistle. The ones you are considering seem super versatile and stylish, with an on trend toe shape. Love them.

Booties in one variation or another have been "in" for a decade or more. Like tall boots, sometimes they trend big and sometimes they don't, but they are always, always available with fall shoe selections. Details change (heel height, platform, toe shape, etc.), but booties are ALWAYS fine and not out of style, IMO. If they coordinate well with your fall wardrobe, they are well worth the investment.

The ankle boots I agree with in principle, but I feel the need to see them on. For me they have to have the right visual heft, which is an individualised thing...

I tried the Vince booties on this morning. They are georgeous and very on trend. I have a wide fore foot and a high arch. The were too tight in the fore foot or they would have been mine. Quality seemed high.

I've worn booties for 15 years, with pants. I think they are classic and will never go out of style. I love the ones you chose!!!

Thistle - those boots are drool worthy and IMO so classic that I can't imagine them ever being out of style. So the one thing I'm allowing myself (so far) to consider from NAS are also boots. But I'm worried; what if my feet grow during this pregnancy?? I guess one option is I can not wear them until after I give birth, which will be Dec., and then I can return them if they don't fit. Of course my feet will probably be too swollen before that to wear them anyways. Hmmmmm.......

I don't think you can go wrong with those, Thistle. But AviahMariah brings up a good point about pregnancy.

And speaking of pregnancy, I noticed that you referred to DD2 in another thread. I must haved missed an announcement somewhere along the line!

Hmmm, good point! My feet are swollen enough at the end of the day I needed new sandals. Now might not be the time to try them.

I think I will wait until I am going back to work and treat myself to a pair. My feet should have adjusted by then.

I still love my Eccos and BCBGs, but something about this ultra sleek and streamlined style just sung to me. :). I want to like moto boots, but they just don't pull on my heart strings.

But at least I feel more justified in putting a few more dollars toward booties. Especially with our long winters and falls, they are practical too.

Beatle booties like the ones you linked to are actually surging this season. I do think it would be wise to wait until munchkin #2 arrives to purchase, though. Feet get pregnant, too!
