How do I wear these with skirts?

So, I was at the Ross and found these AMAZING Doc Martens "Kimora" boots for only $20. It was clearly destiny.

I love the idea of wearing them with skinnies or jeggings tucked into them, or with slightly looser skinnies cuffed over top, but I cannot figure out how to wear them with a skirt/dress. It seems like a long skirt would be too prairie victorian, and a short skirt would be sort of trampy witch. Am I wrong? Help!

#1 is the boots, #2 is an adorable cold-weather styling idea with scrunchy socks.

I see where the Victorian Trampy Witch worry comes from - I'd avoid any midi lacey type of things; I'd keep it sleek - pencil skirt, perhaps?

I agree with the suggestions on the pencil skirts. If it suits your style, you could also consider fit & flare skirts that are knee length. I mean skirts that are fitted around the waist & hips and then flare slightly around the thighs.

A maxi tube skirt with a slit to the side would be sexy but a little less obvious than with the short skirt. Or, go for a knee length or 2-3 inches above the knee length pencil skirt with a looser top to de-bombshell. Finally, what about track pants scrunched up to show the boots (or is that too Russian Cossack dancer).

I agree with a lot of the suggestions here, but here's where my brain goes:

- tapered midi or maxi skirts!
- below the knee a-line? but in a grown up fabrication... not like a skater dress!
- grunge-type ditsy floral?
- classic or flannel shirt dress?

Great boots! I would wear these with a short skirt/dress and thick knit or opaque tights if the outfit wasn't too sexy - then the boots give needed edge and aren't trampy at all. I picture them with short but flowy/drapey dresses, bulky sweaters with straight-skirted minis, black velvet, or any number of autumn outfits!
