Xtabay’s thread about boredom made me wonder: what’s your coping mechanism for this difficult situation we find ourselves in?

Mine has been daily hikes/walks in the woods near our home. We are lucky enough to have a small trail network built by our development through the woods behind our house, and there are also dozens of miles of mountain bike/hike trails nearby. I find it very therapeutic to be out in nature, and I’m observing things deeply, which I find simultaneously calming and stimulating. Some days I take my “real camera” and others just my phone. Some days I take a little day pack with a snack or lunch, and make 8 miles of it — other days I’ll just go out for an hour.

Here are some recent favorite pics from my wanderings. (first three are with the Nikon and macro lens; others are iPhone)

What is your coping method?
