How about this for Bridal shower?

Hi there! I haven't been around much lately as work has been busy but I check in here and there and miss everyone. I am hoping to get some opinions on this outfit for a bridal shower. My son is getting married in April and they are having a couples bridal shower in March. Not sure what the weather will be like but it may still be chilly. I like the outfit attached. I have similar pants and shoes so I would just need the top. Will the long sash drive me nuts? Does it look appropriate or should I really do a dress? Should I go with a more feminine shoe?

It seems a little office wear to me. Not that a MotG outfit for a shower has to be super frilly or anything, but usually I've seen someone in your situation go a bit more festive and blingy.

In my experience (I have 30+ nieces & nephews), couples showers are less dressy parties than women-only affairs. Is the shower at a home or restaurant or other venue? Home parties tend to be more casual. If it will be held at a restaurant or club, you could get a feel by visiting their website. I think the outfit you're considering could work. I might ramp it up a bit with some sparkle.

I find the simplicity and colours of the outfit classy, though I'd perhaps add a dressy heel, a statement necklace and well styled hair to make it party ready. I'm guessing you could wrap the sash around your waist twice if you find it too long.

I like it for a bridal shower. I really like the sash, and you could tie it in a bow if it gets in the way. I would like to see a necklace and low-vamp footwear. Yes, I think you need a more feminine shoe.

I agree with Smittie. With a more feminine shoe and perhaps a clutch I think it would be perfect even if a lot of guests were in dresses. This is the kind of outfit I'd wear to a lot of daytime events, myself. Although probably with a heel of some kind. Where is the top from? So pretty!

I think it would be fine with less orthopedic looking shoes.

ETA: Sorry, I meant less utilitarian shoes.

I think it's appropriate although I'd probably choose dressier shoes (doesnt have to be heels; you could for example choose a pointy bootie) and add some jewelry.
This is what similar to what most of the parents' generation women wear at the showers I've been to. The younger women are more likely to wear more "party" clothes, but even then there are some in this type of outfit. I tend to wear dresses or skirts to these things and I'm sometimes the dressiest one there aside from the bride.
So, I think you'll be comfortable and appropriate. You'll probably blend in a bit (which could be good or bad). You could go edgier but only if you want to stand out more...

OK, I'm getting ditch the loafers and go for some more feminine touches and this could work. Viva, this look is from Finerylondon.com. You may not want to look because everything is cute and would all look good on you but it's overseas. I really like their modern aesthetic and might give it a try. The event is at a restaurant. I also have a Kay Unger dress in my closet that might work. I guess I'd better get busy trying things on! Thanks a bunch everyone! I knew I could count on you all!

I like oxfords for a daytime work look but agree with above comments to make it look more like festive wear with shoes and accessories.
Most of the time here, the ladies are wearing party frocks, and I keep trying to collect a capsule, but pants are easier for me.
