Hmm, am I just being grouchy when I'm just as bugged by these "backlash" articles as by the "no-no" lists that prompted them? Amusing, but also every bit as patronizing in their own way. Is there anything in this particular list that isn't as applicable to a thirty-something as to someone in her fifties? Besides, if rose-colored glasses fit her style, why shouldn't someone continue happily wearing them into her final years? See, I said I was feeling cranky.
As older women, I propose we wear what pleases us, do what seems right given our personalities and circumstances, and enjoy our older selves--and ignore all the "advice" being so handily dished out to us these days.
