Hot office, cold lab. What to wear?

I am a marine biologist. Tomorrow, I will be working in an environment that consists of a hot office and a cool lab, where specimens are located. I will be frequently moving between the two environments.

Any tips on how I should dress for that?

I'm thinking of going with the following, but will this look too boring?
1. Grey cardigan (wear in lab, remove in office)
2. White blouse
3. Leather like super skinny pants
4. Shearling & leather wedge boots

i sense that you love those boots! would they be too hot for the hot place?

a sweater would help thermoregulate. so would a brisk walk to the cold place.

It depends on how cold the lab is. When I have to work in the coldroom (4C) I want a puffer jacket, or at least a very warm sweater. The ideal is something easy to pull on and off, and with sleeves that cover my wrists and hands (the first to get cold) unless that gets in the way of lab gloves.

I like everything you posted, but I wonder if the awesome textures of the leather boots would work better against something more subtle like black skinny jeans, instead of the glossy leather-like pants.

Those boots would look good with a puffer vest!

A nice selection of clothes.....not at all boring. Though I do agree with Greyscale about the boots with these pants....

@bj1111 - You have a sharp eye! Yes, you are totally correct, I do love these Guess boots! Ever since I have bought them in late August, I have been wearing them almost daily. They are a bit on the warm side since it is still summer but they are so comfortable and cute, I don't want to take them off. Do you think I am wearing them too early, seasonally speaking?

@Greyscale - I see you have been in a similar situation with me, having to go back and forth between a hot and cold location. I think anyone who has worked in a dual climate environment would completely agree with you regarding easy to pull off and on!!! What sort of coldroom were you working in? ........ I'll look into black skinny jeans to go with these boots. Do you think these boots go well with this blouse & cardigan?

the boot does seem a bit out of season with the fleece. but if it floats your boat, then by all means wear them all the time. think about the cost per wear. practically a bargain.

@Froggy - When I first started doing some work in a lab for work, as opposed to back when I was in college, I noticed that not everyone wore lab coats. I used to wear scrubs for the lab or wear a lab coat but since then, I have realized that no one wears lab coats because, knock on wood, the type of work we do does allow us to stay very clean as long as we aren't careless so now I can break out my nice clothes
