As in, yeah, it's supposed to be warm (70s) on Friday, and I have a fancyish event to attend. It's my daughter's school's fundraiser, and from past event pictures, some people are wearing prom dresses and others are in business casual. Since I never get a chance to dress up, I figured I'd trot out my fancy pants and try them on.

Note: These are the shoes I'd wear (Coclico), but I'd spring for more opaque hose.

1 - Miguelina purple with black lace silk frock. Very girly for me, and also a color (!).

2 - VPL #1. If you followed my trauma with a previous VPL frock, I think this one actually fits! However it is a very casual fabric.

3 - VPL #2. Second verse, same as the first, only with a drapey panel across the tummy. You know, in case I eat something. Also casualish fabric.

4 - VPL #3. Third verse, only longer! This is more of a maxi. Casual fabric, times three.

5 - Eileen Fisher ponte dress. Your class multiputpose LBD. This is pretty corporate but it could also swing bombshell with that V-neck, maybe?

6 - Herf-Christiansen drop-front black tunic over slip. H-C is designed by a friend (who is also attending) and it would be fun to wear her stuff so she can see I do really wear it. The upside to this is that although it is long-sleeved, it is very light material. The front cowl is trimmed with leather to give it enough weight to fall nicely, and the sleeve cuffs have an awesome detail.

7 - IRO sequin top, Eileen Fisher black ponte skirt. Man, this top is unflattering! PASS.

8 - IRO sequin tunic, Eileen Fisher black ponte skirt underneath just in case I raise my arms much higher than this. Oddly, although the tunic is one size bigger than the top in #7, I feel like it fits better! Maybe it's the length.

I'm tipping between #6 and #8. Anyone?
