I saw that article, but I gotta say, if you don't notice that your circulation and sensation in your legs is being cut off, then you probably have other issues, too!
My friend, now in mid-60's was told by doctor years ago that she had developed "Calvin Klein syndrome" where she had some nerve damage from too tight jeans.
In addition to what others said, if you are going to be packing stuff for moving or doing heavy exercise you better wear comfortable pants.
I read that she was packing for moving, poor lady.
I have a very hard time finding skinnies that don't hurt my kneecaps by the end of the day. I don't know if it's something about my leg conformation or what... (I do have a history of knee problems.) I don't know how much compression it takes before nerve damage kicks in but I really hope I'd give up on my pants well before that! My tolerance for discomfort is very low.
I really feel like I should have something to say about the skinny jeans but I am struggling to get past the statement at the end of the article about CAFFEINE INFUSED SHAPEWEAR. What the what?!
Given that it is also called "picker's syndrome", I am guessing that it can happen even in people who are NOT wearing skinny pants but who are squatting excessively. It seems that in this case the pants just exacerbated an issue that could have occurred (albeit less severely) without the pants. Still and all, calf-sucking pants are SO not attractive!
I have the same knee issues as Greyscale. Skinny pants need to have a lot of stretch otherwise my knees hurt. The other day I tried on the most adorable skinny pants at Zara (brown with polka dots) and while they looked amazing, if I sat down in them my thighs hurt as they had so little stretch. Any Seinfeld fans remember the episode when Kramer puts on skinny jeans and can't take them off or bend his legs?
Oh my goodness. I don't wear anything that's tight. I can't even wear lace-up shoes unless they're laced so loosely that I almost walk out of them. They cause pain on the tops of my feet.
