Hooded jackets K/R?

I was able to snag the Kut from the Kloth jacket in a small. I think the medium might be the right size. The small is the first set which DH thinks looks too small. It’s much closer in the armholes but not tight. Do you have a preference? I also managed to get the Caslon in a small regular. It’s so buttery soft and comfy. Would love your opinions. TIA!

I prefer the green jacket in the smaller size. Like you said, it isn't tight, and the sleeves are the correct length. The other jacket looks fab, too. I say keep both!

Love the color! I think the jacket fits better in the back-shoulder line in small, but if you're going to layer heavy things under, the medium would be better.

Both sizes look good. In the long run, i suspect that you will be happier with the larger size but it depends on what you want to layer under the jacket. I like the black too but if you keep just one, make it green.

I think the KUT in small is the best fit, but if you prefer a slightly oversized look go with medium and/or the Caslon. It really looks nice on you and that hood seems to add a lot of versatility.

Kelly - the green looks gorgeous with your coloring. The slightly more cropped length looks good. What will you wear underneath? Also I'm assuming the blanc is faux leather so does that stretch? I never buy jackets too tight because I like to layer, The medium hangs straighter through the body but the shoulders are roomy and the sleeves are longer. Does that bother you? I have a madewell jacket I bought a size up, for the Top Gun "Charlie" looks. There's just something cool to me about oversized borrowed from the boys, but you need to decide what you are looking for visually. Really nice jacket!! I too bought the Caslon moto - doesn't it feel great on? Something about the lining, it's so comfortable, like a sweatshirt all over. I just didn't want to take it off. The sleeves are super long on you, my arms must be much longer. I don't know if that bother you, the leather is thin enough to roll, scrunch etc, but with the zips I don't know how much alteration would be. Otherwise I love it on you and it's a two-fer with the removable hood. Can you keep both? Which do you like? Green is so unusual and the color so flattering but the caslon is so great and so much quality for the price point. Sorry no help. Keep both if you can unless one feels better or you don't love one of them. So glad stalking paid off. That caslon was a bear to get hands on, okay everything was out of stock for me. The miracle of stalking at work!!

You look great in both, Kelly. I would see which colour will give more options (and fun) to your closet. In terms of size, I prefer the small green from the back but maybe the medium from the front so I am zero help at all on this.

I don’t think that either of the green jackets fit very well from the back view: too much poofing out in the lower thoracic spine area. Likewise the sleeves seem too long in both green jackets.

I think that the black one is a perfect fit and you look comfortable in it.

Green is a beautiful color for you but the fit of the black jacket is significantly better and I agree with 3style that you look more at ease

I think the Caslon looks like a great fit. Of the two green jackets, I think the S is better, but the cut is not fitting as nicely as the Caslon.

Thanks for sharing you opinions! It’s so helpful! I tried them all on again last night (despite the heat) and figured I’d sleep on it. I was happy to wake up and see that many of your opinions echoed my own!

@Echo: Thanks! My closet is really light on jackets. I could definitely stand to add a few. They are my least favorite thing to shop for though--broad shoulders, regular length torso and shortish arms...need I say more--lol!

@suntiger: Thank you! I was surprised at the difference in fit from the back. The small definitely looks better from the back but the medium looks better from the front.

@Joy: Thanks! I don’t think I’d be layering much under either of these jackets. They would probably serve as indoor jackets mostly to replace the lightweight puffer jacket I wear all winter at work. (My office is freezing.)

@Colette: Thanks! I always lean toward oversized and it seems to be trending these days. I got rid of a bunch of jackets because they were too hard to layer over even lightweight sweaters.

@gryffin: Yes! Stalking pays off. I had so many cancelled orders that I stopped counting. The Kut is faux leather and I don’t think that will stretch like real leather. I much prefer the more fitted look but I know that anything that is not comfortable will not get worn. The Caslon feels amazing on. My hesitation is the wrinkly long sleeves. I can’t decide if it just looks sloppy on me or if I’m looking for a jacket that looks a little more polished?

@3Style: Thanks for your frank feedback! I really appreciate it! The Caslon is the most comfortable of the lot. It’s just whether it looks too wrinkly or not.

Kelly- was it wrinkled up in the box(the Caslon). Because mine hangs totally smooth. I think the sleeves are just too long on you. How exoensive would the alteration be. Because it’s quite a clean jacket without the hoodie. It’s really difficult to fine blackened or black hardware. Madewell had one but lately it’s all bright silver. But don’t keep anything you don’t love. It’s not worth it. Something perfect or something that can be made perfect is worth waiting for. “Ok is NOT good enough!!”anuschka rees. And I agree.

@gryffin: The sleeves look perfect on the hanger. It's just on my arms that it looks wrinkly. I tugged them down to see if the wrinkles would go away but they don't. It could be it's not cut right for me. Honestly, I'm almost always a medium. My preference would have been MP but thought I'd give the regular small a try. I totally agree with you--I have to love it to keep it! On another note, I tried the green jacket (in medium) on over a sweatshirt and the fit is perfect. I could barely move when I tried it with the small!

Interesting about the arm fit of the Caslon jacket. I didn’t compare the fit on the model versus the fit on you until I read your more recent comments. Anyway, I had been assuming that the sleeves on the black one were deliberately ruched. At least from the photos, the way that they are gathered looks like a cool modern design feature. Doesn’t look like a compromise. So I think it depends upon how it feels on you. And maybe try a variety of layers underneath to see how it works.

For freezing casual office I mostly use a chunky alpaca cardigan over my regular clothing. You might have an easier time with proportions on a knit.

You look great in both jackets. If you keep only one, the green is very flattering for you plus it's a unique shade. I'm petite, too, and I always have to roll my sleeves or have them altered.

I vote medium, Kelly. More versatile, and high fiving hubs. It's a good fluid rugged fit - back poof works well to my eye - and do have the sleeves altered. Happy belated birthday, and much love to you and Oreo. xo

Oh, this is very difficult, Kelly. I really like both the jackets on you. Love the green colour of the first one and the soft leather look of the second one. What Suz says - whichever is more fun for you. On the size - I prefer the larger one on you.

Gorgeous jackets for you! Wow. I would go with Angie's recommendation on the fit. Although from the photos, I will admit I preferred the small, mainly from the back view. I think it would be good to be able to layer a sweater under it if you wanted to, though.

Hmm, I almost always think the more fluid (i.e. larger) fit is better on almost anyone, but the second set of pictures just looks too big to me. The first doesn't pull or look too small at all, though clearly how it feels might be different. But leather stretches, depending on what you wear it with. I remember buying a leather coat and while it was snug with a t-shirt when I first bought it, it comfortably fit a sweater underneath within two weeks. Perhaps this jacket looks different in person and in motion than in the pictures.

Regardless, BOTH jackets really do look great on you! Black and dark jewel tones like the first jacket look fantastic on you. If you have the closet room, I still vote for both, regardless of which size you choose in the green.

Late to reply but I do love that color green on you! If it were me, I'd go with the M as it makes no sense to have a heavy jacket that you can't layer under.
