Holiday party question: SPANX and pantyhose!

A few quick holiday party-related questions:

1. Never tried Spanx before. When wearing, how do you go to the bathroom, is it a real pain? I.e., should I limit my beverage intake?

2. Pantyhose - wear over Spanx or under?

3. Pantyhose - OK to wear with peep toe shoes?

1) They are a bugger to get on and off. I don't know what your tolerance is, but I would find wrestling with my panties more than once a negative.

2) I'd wear over.

3) Many people say yes. I don't like seeing the seam on the toes but others may not mind.

I've only worn the Spanx hose, so take my advice is a grain of salt.

1) No difference between wearing regular hose and Spanx hose.

2) Well, I think 2 pairs of hose would be uncomfortable.

3) As long as your hose has a sheer toe, you're good to go.

Before you go to the mall, check out Steinmart if there's one near you. They usually have the Spanx for about 1/2 the price.

a lot of the spanx have an opening at the crotch for ease of bathroom use should you go panty less.

Sona is right, many of the shapers have open crotches. If you decide on a pair of Spanx that doesn't have the open crotch, you will need to use a large (family or handicapped) restroom to accommodate the dancing about that will happen as you try to wriggle back into them.

Spanx and Whiz Palace: I wear undies underneath my shapers and don't find it terribly inconvenient to go to the washroom. Personally it does not deter me from beverages. Going to the washroom via the open crotch scares me a bit, so I always un and re Spanx.

Spanx and pantyhose: I usually go hose-less when I wear Spanx. A few weeks ago, though, I wore hose overtop and had some trouble with them sliding down my butt (!!) because the Spanx were slippery. I'd test that situation before you commit to it because it probably depends on the particular hose.

I can't see how I could ever get myself back in and out of Spanx, in a dress, in a restroom. I've worn hose over Spanx and used the, er, convenient opening provided.

I had to rip myself out of them after about an hour or so though because I felt like I was getting organ damage. EEK.
