Holiday Party Dressing

I have a Holiday Party coming up. It is an office party and it is being held at a Spurs game. It is in a private box catered and my boss is going all out. Since this is the first time we’ve had a holiday party out of the office since COVID. I have no idea what to wear. To a regular game I would wear jeans a sweater and boots. This I am not sure. When I asked he said whatever you want. Helpful not!

Anyone have any suggestions!

I hate events without a clear dress code.
I’d kind of split the difference between “regular” game wear and dressy, ie jeans, boots and a velvet shirt…2nd choice “leather” pants or leggings with with a festive colored top

I just went to a fabulous/casual party last night, and I wore gold damask BR pants from a few years ago, an ancient embroidered black J. Jill rayon top, and gold ankle boots (kind of beat, but the lighting was low). I was really comfortable and felt festive - and wasn't worried about spilled drinks or salad dressing either.

I was invited to a similar Chicago Bulls event a few years ago and it was AMAZING. I hope you have a fantastic time!

I know it's hard when the dress code isn't defined, but IMO it's also a bit freeing... I'd try to split the difference and choose something that will feel relaxed and casual to reflect the vibe of the game, but with enough zhuzh to make it feel dressy/festive.

I love Roberta's example of the gold bootie, blingy pants in a trouser cut (dressy but relaxed) -- maybe topped with a fluffy, slightly slouchy black sweater... holds its own whether the general theme of the crowd leans dressy or casual.

Yes echoing others! Wear festive/upgraded versions of something you might always wear. So coated jeans or faux leather pants and a top, or regular jeans and a sweater with festive details. Or wear what you normally would but add some really fun, bold jewelry or accessories to make it feel special.

I have been to lots of box at sports activies parties. OST of the women do not watch the game at all. The dress code is much mor dressy than going to a game. The ower's wife wore a suit in the major team color. Team colors could be incorporated. If you wear a team tee, wear it under a blazer or jacket. If it is cold, dress to sit outside. Your group will probably have their own seating area right outside the box. I hope that you will be given close parking. If not you may need walking shoes to get across a parking lot.
