Holiday party dress help needed

Mmmkay. So my office holiday party is coming up. It won't be super fancy (sad face.) but I'd still like to wear a dress and get a little fancy, even if I'm the only one.

I'm attaching pictures of a few dresses I'm considering, I also have a few outfits in mind that I already own (better for my bank account...) and I'll add pictures of those either tonight or tomorrow night.

Pic 1: my favorite choice of the bunch. Downside is it is an eBay auction that does not allow returns.

Pic 2: kind of a cheaper, more returnable option of dress one....

Pic 3: I love the unexpected element of the back and while I thought it would be too short according to the website this dress is 35" so actually the longest dress of the bunch . But I'm not sure that this would be flattering on my body type, or really all that appropriate for coworkers...even though it's just my back... O.o

Ok so...feel free to say your thoughts! If I buy something new I'm not planning to shell out a lot of $ but if you happen to know of something else you think I might like for a good price feel free to let me know! I will add some outfit choices from my closet soon.

Pic 2 definitely. Pic 1 is out because it's nonreturnable; those purchases never work for me. Pic 3 is out because that is way too WOWZA for coworkers.

Would like to see what you already own - the first two are nice but maybe a little "cutesy", although you could make them more grown-up. I think #3 is too risque for co-workers, even with a longer length. It's the lacing, not the low back, that puts it OTT for me.

Personally I like dress #1 the best. I've ordered from ebay and find it's hit or miss. Your best bet it to try to good measurements on the dress to check the fit before you buy it. I'm not sure about dress #3 - I wouldn't wear it in front of my co-workers but I work with engineers and they're usually pretty conservative. It probably depends on your particular office.

I like #2 - the first seems too young (but that could be due to the pre-teen looking model!), the third too sexy for an office party. #2 looks like you could glam it up, rock it out, or go cutsey.

#1 is the best of the bunch...i love the rendition of the lace on the sleeve. it fits your style more than #3. flirty rather than overtly sexaaayyyyy.

Girl, I know you love cutesy! And you do it well. But you always tough it up a little too. Of these #1 is my favorite by far.

I really like #1. You're very petite (and I'm thinking easy to fit), so it might not be that big of a risk. Do you know the brand and how it fits you?

Nancy - the brand is Free People. I looked up a review for the dress when it was selling on Nordstroms. A girl with similar height/weight as me wrote she felt it ran a little big but she also listed her body type as straight whereas I am pear. I messaged the seller for measurements.

I'm excited to show you guys what I already have later! Right now I'm at work and I'm going to watch the Holiday Train come through town tonight but I don't think that will go on too late...

Oh and let's just say #3 is out. You guys are right. Maybe for a cute going out/late night with friends dress or something.

I think I like 2 the best. It is similar to 1 but somehow reads a bit dressier? I think 3 is too racy for work.

Of these three options I like 1 best, but I agree that dress 2 is dressier. I too would love to see the other outfits you are thinking of.

I like #2 and think it would look way cute on you.

I vote for #2, only because of the non-returnable option of #1. Even when checking measurements and such, I find that eBay clothing only fits me about 20% of the time. And even then, it's rarely a GOOD fit, if you know what I mean.

I like #1 but non-returnable is a no-go for me. Made that mistake before. #2 is a nice alternative.

#3 is a bit too ice-dancer, IMHO.
