I replenished my holiday tops this year and went for texture and shine, which I think would work well paired with your simple black pants. I’m also wider in the hips and I like bringing more interest into the top part of an outfit. The sweater in my Finds looks nicer in person — it’s a subtle sparkle that works nicely even for daytime so it’s more versatile than a lot of “party tops.” In fact, I’ve already worn the Anthro metallic tee — it’s comfortable, easy and flattering as it drapes nicely, and pairs with anything from distressed jeans to a skirt. It also looks good under a blazer.
The nice thing about these pieces is that they are pretty timeless and versatile. I realized that even though my old sequin top was pretty, it showed up in every holiday party photo of me for years, LOL. So it was time for a change.
