Holiday funny read - for lovers of Hallmark Christmas movies
Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy McSweeney’s. Recently we tried watching a Hallmark movie about birding, ‘Adventures in Love and Birding.’ We had heard about all the things it got wrong. But we had to turn it off after about ten minutes - it was awful in that syrupy Hallmark way. If you are interested in a good documentary about birds, I recommend the Oscar nominated ‘All That Breathes.’
This is fun. Our community is reveling in the attention from a new Hallmark movie that was filmed here. "A Cherry Pie Christmas". DH and I bumped into a scene that was being filmed in our downtown so it fun to watch. I have not yet seen the movie but agree that it is an accurate description based on the trailers I have seen.
LisaP - EXACTLY! My sister, however, is a fan and recently participated in the Christmas parade in her tiny town in which she serves on city council. She rode in the first car, throwing candy to the children, "just like in my own Hallmark movie!"
However, one of my favorite holiday traditions is watching film noir movies from the 1940s and 50s in my basement lair while I wrap presents. Can't wait!
I love hallmark movies for the very reason that they are predictable and always end happily Hilariously accurate although they missed off that somehow everyone causally knows how to make eggnog from scratch
