It's a good thing that I enjoy not only Advent, but the celebration of Christmastide. We've embraced celebrating the 12 days (if not the annoying song). It keeps me from panic as my list remains long and time grows short!
I'm preparing to travel to visit family (which will be stressful, even when it's good), and to sing two services tomorrow night, stuffing dinner in between, and a gift exchange and making of The Sugar Plum Ring after the last service.
I'm so glad I thought through my holiday outfits! These aren't groundbreaking, but I've been able to feel comfortable and put together with little effort.
My biggest frustration is my hair -- I've been fighting a bad haircut that I'll just have to live with until January. Aargh!
1. Sunday! This is a repeat from last year. Everything is stretch, with a fluid take on traditional. Love me a pencil skirt! This is a repeat of one of last year's holiday outfit. This is last years pic, too. You can tell because my haircut is better! Sigh.
2. I've had just a few voice students at home this week. This outfit made it easy to go from holiday wrapping and making peppermint bark to teaching. I love this menswear vest and would love a longer, looser one in a deeper color. The flats are subtly shiny and the burgundy (and shiny earrings) are my nod to the season.
3. Shopping frenzy! I've got lots of last minute errands to run. Fortunately, it's rather mild weather. I'm wearing a mixed media (fleece and nylon) moto style jacket over a light striped tee, with black skinnies and brown Clark's boots. Yep. I wouldn't have worn brown with black two years ago, but I've learned that, gee, my hair is brown and makes a natural bookend! I've rolled the pants to show more of the laces of the boots. The scarf adds a bit of holiday color, but the flash is making it seem brighter. The top and scarf actually harmonize fairly well, without actually matching.
Time to rest up before the final push! Happy Holidays, everyone!
