Calling all Sherlock Holmes fans: I would love some help with my wardrobe mystery!
I have recently discovered not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4!! of my newer knit tops have small holes in the front near the waistband. A few tiny holes right near the part of the wasitband where the button/snap is. When I discovered the problem the first time, I wrote it off as a moth or being partcularly rough in packing it and snagging it a zipper or soemthing like that. But, now I know I've got a more systematic problem and want to get to the bottom of it. Arghh! I hate that whatever this is has ruined perfectly good tops!
All the affected tops are cotton or cotton-blend knits-- think t-shirt alternatives. It has happened more as the weather has gotten warmer and I've worn a top without a cami underneath or just a short cami like the "second base" Angie blogged about.
I'm thinking the culprit is the waistband of my favorite jeans-- the corner of the tab with the buttonhole. It does not feel rough if I rub it with my finger, but I cannot come up with any other explanation. Could it be? What could I do to solve it? Does anyone have other ideas? I've given up hope that the holes can be repaired, but I'd welcome any advice on this as well.
