We live very close to an NHL arena and almost all the kids play hockey. Everyone wears red on Fridays to support the military and since the NHL team colours are black and red well almost everyone wears team gear on Fridays... I am also a wool lover so lots of wool in my wardrobe.
We used to be NHL season ticket holders, ds played on a team next door to the NHL arena and we went to the hot seats with NHL current or retired players and media once a week from November to mid April. There were also more formal NHL team functions and special hot seats at night for particular events. Most things are of a casual nature andd for the cold but there are summer events too so less warm evident there.
Coats/Jackets
One very long black wool coat with large pockets down the front sort of like princess seams and has a removable hood. It is warm for many temperatures with layering and can forego a purse with those pockets at a game. It keeps the legs warm in the kids cold cold arenas and keeps legs warm in NHL arena when I take the coat off and just flip the long part over my legs.
One short car coat, black fake sued with brown fake fur trim. Removable hood. Also a many temperature layering jacket and can withstand very wet snow or rain.
Rain jacket. Horrid but waterproof. After standing three hours in the rain before one of the Stanley Cup final games and getting soaked was less worried about fashion as I needed this. Still looking for a fashionable waterproof alternative.
Hats, gloves, scarves
My red cashmere slouchy beret was perfect and needs to be replaced.
Have multiple gloves but the ones worn almost always are the Ralph Lauren three button red wool gloves. They are shaped like a hand, fit almost perfectly, can easily be stowed in a pocket or purse and are super warm.
Team scarf is the one I wear mostly if I wear one to an NHL game, they can be a pain. Otherwise I have a Dress Stewart plaid that carries team colours.
Team Jerseys well we just won't go there...hangs head in shame.
Turtlenecks
A variety of black turtlenecks in different weights (cashmere, merino, lambswool, velour, cotton). Red merino and cotton. A thin burgundy cotton one I wear upon occassion and a no sleeve glitter raspberry turtle worn on occassion to dressier functions.
Sweaters/blazers
Red tipped black merino crew neck twinset (cardigan has long sleeves while sweater has short sleeves), black short sleeve merino sweater with a white diamond in the centre with gold detailing at the points of diamond, acrylic black cardigan with rhinestone buttons, black cashmere/wool sweater coat, black tuxedo jacket, red boiled wool blazer, red riding jacket, black merino v-neck sweater. {What I can remember, am sure there are more}.
The red boiled wool blazer is a perennial favourite that I've been trying to update for over five years. Fits so many different temperatures with layering. The black sweater coat is also a favourite as it is longer to cover derriere and very, very warm. The red riding jacket was a mistake but is fine, just not liking the fabric and don't feel like myself in it.
Fleece (sorry but sometimes necessary, think of a pond hockey tournament)
Team 3/4 zipper, black blazer type zip front, lighter 3/4 zip black fleece.
Sweatshirts
Two team pullover hoodies with kangaroo pockets in the front
T-shirts
Two long sleeve black t-shirts, one team long sleeve black t, a variety of short sleeve red t's, one dressier black short sleeve top, black tank.
Too many short sleeve red team t`s to admit to
Blouse
Red black and white flower patterned chiffon
Skirt
Black crepe pencil skirt
Dress
one red dress that hubby loves but I do not
Pants
Three pair black cords, black jeans, two pair black skinnies in dress pant fabric that I wear like jeans, houndstooth pants
Shoes/boots
Ecco soft black flats with grey laces, sheepskin lined ankle boots are the two main pairs that I wear for arena life. Others from regular wardrobe.
I won`t go into jewellery as not really important for capsule, just imagine.

Going to a game at -40 with a long walk from the parking lot could be a silk underlayer or merino cardigan from twinset, team fleece, black sweater coat and a team jersey. Another winter night it might be just the black cashmere turtleneck, red boiled wool blazer and team jersey. Most often it depends on the weather and if functions were a Friday and Saturday of the same week. During the playoffs a long sleeve t-shirt and acrylic cardigan were worn yet in the height of summer for development camp it would be freezing in a differrent and colder arena so it would be a short sleeved t, black sweater coat and fake suede jacket. The real suede jacket from my regular wardrobe would not be worn as sweater coat bulky and would not fit. The coat also might have been the raincoat with attachable fleece lining.
Hope you can get an idea. I take pics so no pics of self hardly...
