I really like this H&M skirt, so it followed me home. I got it in a regular size but the web site only had it in plus sizes, hence the find. It's a summer weight but I could see wearing it in fall with booties and a moto jacket or something like that.

It's been so long since I bought a skirt (several years) that I'm quite unsure about whether the shape is flattering. I've tried it with three black tops, each one with and without a knit belt. The belt has the visual effect of lengthening my short waisted-ness just a little, a trick I learned from Jean Wang at extrapetite.com.

The skirt is just a hair too big, and longer on me than the model, but the next size down was too snug. If I keep it I will remove the pockets (I don't need any extra fabric at my upper thigh) and probably slim the sides just a little.

What do you think? Yay/nay? Which top? Belt/nobelt? Too long? What other styling ideas might you suggest?

Any and all comments and suggestions most welcome!
