Thanks for indulging my indulging, @Shevia Oh yes, I think you may be right - I didn't even pay attention to the shoulders in these photos! Hmm now I'm wondering if keeping it is worth it at all, since shoulders are notoriously the most difficult (& expensive) part of a garment to alter (especially since it's lined)... Yes, maybe I'll try scrunching to see if that helps.
Yes, the brand is new to me but I did a quick Google search & I liked how most of their pieces have that architectural drape going on - I'm actually surprised at how fitted this jacket is, considering how loose & airy most of their styles seem to be? But maybe that's because outerwear is usually more structured. I think leaving it open gives it more of that characteristic drape though, you're right.
I guess the moral of this story is that I need to be a bit more discerning when I thrift items - I get so excited by the choices of things that I can physically see & know will be big enough to fit me (rather than shopping online & guessing). The low price probably doesn't help me to exercise restraint, either! The silk jumper is funny because I wasn't too sure about it when I saw it - it looked pretty 'plain' in the shop. But you're right, it's one of those good basics that I need - I'm too distracted by all of the colours & more 'interesting' pieces instead. Maybe once secondhand shopping becomes less of a novelty to me I will behave
