Last night I was telling my DH that while we are in Iceland I want to check out warm, wool scarves to add to my budding scarf collection. I have a nice selection of pretty scarves now, but few of them are warm enough for winter.
My DH then tells me "Didn't I mention that I collected thrift and vintage scarves for years?" Well.... yes, he'd mentioned that... but I've only seen about 4 or 5 in rotation since we met.
Next thing I know, he brings out a rubbermaid box ... filled with gorgeous wool scarves!!!
An array of collegiate scarves from various ivy leagues... and tartans and plaids in every combo imaginable - charcoal grey, greens, blues, black and cream, reds... and even one that looks like a Burberry!!
I am not sure it's a "real" Burberry - the colors seem different than what is sold in the stores today - but the wool is high quality. He's not sure either. He thinks its very old. Anyone know if Burberry pattern used to be different? Very curious!
Meanwhile, the colors in the Yale scarf - which is super heavy and ultra warm - matches my new Jcrew coat to perfection.
I chose about 10 and they are airing out now to get the mothball smell out of them!
