Hip, hip hooray, it’s Angie’s birthday!

Angie, Margot and I are wishing you a very happy birthday. I hope that you have a wonderful day with Greg and Sam.

The celebrations have commenced in Australia with tea and cake a high priority of the day!

To celebrate Angie’s birthday I am wearing Dutch orange and pearls. Margot is au natural in her white fur. My skirt has a whimsical pattern of African animals, which seems appropriate because Angie lived in South Africa. Lucky for me, it is a beautiful sunny day, but the early morning is clear and cold, so I need to rug up, as the day progresses I can ditch my jacket.

Whilst this outfit is inspired by Angie, it is reflective of my style that has evolved since joining YLF. Faux fur, boots, colour and playful elements are signature to my style. Angie, a huge Thankyou for helping me in getting to this place where I am happy and confident in my style.

What I Wore:

Saloni skirt - new and bought for summer, but I can wear now with knits and boots
Burnt orange sweater
Black faux fur jacket
Black suede boots
Pearls
Special occasion earrings, my Bijou Westie earrings, a gift from my best friend (photo 1)

Plan for today, to work from home but go out for tea and cake. I am lucky, our local cafes are open.

I hope everyone can celebrate Angie”s special day.

Angie, Happy Happy birthday! I cannot believe it has been 13 years or so since I found YLF and it, just like you, just gets better and better.
We were in the area of the Kinneret/Sea of Galilee for a few days (isolated cabin, eating in). I thought of you when I packed my linen shirt dress to wear over my bathing suit.

I know this is not exactly the 50th birthday you planned, but I hope you have a wonderful day with your boys and they spoil you completely. Well I know they will! Enjoy!

Will my today's work outfit make do for the party, too?

Should have known in time about the celebration should have prepared myself surelly better. BUT, this is what I wear today for work and I really don't have to think that hard to find reminescents of Angie's tuitions in some of this outfit's details like:- the accents of cheery bright colors in the pattern of the dress, the metallic accessories I styled it this time, the big white watch, the red cat-eye specs&lips. It's afternoon here so red lips especially in her honour as I always forget to put it on later again in the day-and these are all things I lurked for inspiration on The Blog and YLF Forum.

Also, this dress happens to be almost as old as how long am on YLF (12-12 yrs?) and was hardly worn because I did not like sleeveless but Angie said we all have the right and can do sleeveless no matter our weight or bodies-so why not? Or, If NOT NOW, than WHEN?

And, what am I toasting with? There is icy zero sugar green Ice Tea in my office mug- Cheers to Angie, cheers Y'all!

Brooklyn, as the leader of team skirt, I am very pleased that you like this one. I think it has the very real possibility of becoming a wardrobe workhorse.

Mainlady, so fun that you like the skirt too. As soon as I saw it I was smitten, but anything with tigers on tends to capture my attention.

Suntiger, Margot was a good sport to pose for the photo, because I plucked her from having a snooze on my son’s lap.
