Okay, I was cogitating over todays post. I have tried the EA trick of belting a blazer at the natural waist in the past and I did not find it as pleasing on me as it looks on her. However, that made me realize I never belt at my natural waist. I prefer hip belts, just as I prefer midrise jeans with belts to lengthen my torso. Anyway, fwiw, I just popped on my Theory Marcela jacket (a long 33" blazer) over a column of black (of course) and added a hip belt and, although it is a different look than the post, I found it very flattering and the jacket does not bunch or move around and it was totally comfortable and not fussy. I'm going to road test it tomorrow and see how it does. But maybe this style will work for others if they work with a belt at their most flattering point which, for some of us, may not be the natural waist. Just a thought.
