I even forgot to mention that one time in my hometown a huge portion of the town lost power because two squirrels got frisky in a transformer box. I just added that story.

So weird! I was just watching the first few minutes of "White House Down" and there's a scene about a squirrel trying to get into a guy's bird feeder.

Before your pinterest conversation and this movie, I never even knew that was a problem. It's funny when the universe converges like that.

Getting a good chuckle, Anna! My husband works as a lineman for the local power company, so squirrels are the bane of his existence. He calls them "tree rats". We had the same problem as your dad in the birdfeeding department. I suggest he look into getting a Droll Yankee feeder. They have several nearly squirrel-proof designs. We have the Yankee Spinner model which sends the pesky critters flying... very entertaining!

Thanks for sharing! I think we saw the same squirrel documentary. I saw a few red ones this year though which was nice. I have an acorn necklace, similar type of goldtone pendant. I love it!
