Gentleman Friend and I are dying to do a walking tour of the Amalfi Coast in October, but the company won't do the tour without a minimum of three people so we need a single or a couple to join us. Wow, Mary. WOW. I was on the Amalfi coast last year, not for a walking tour, which will be beyond amazing, but we did go hiking for a few hours. You are going to be in killer shape after this, too. Even with all the pasta. I sooooooooooooo wish I could join you.......

Oh, I just read the tour description. We took the "Path of the Gods" hike as well. Gorgeous, gorgeous. You are going to crazy love Amalfi with the lemon trees, the mountains and the sea. Naples is great too, but a lively, gritty city so quite different.

You will love the Amalfi Coast! We were there a few years ago staying in one of the little villages and had an unplanned walking tour because we walked to the next village planning to take the train back. There was a train strike until evening, so we walked up high over the vineyards to a rather isolated village with amazing model ships in their church, then back down to the next village where we thought we could take a sea walk across a bridge. But it was closed due to some American that had managed to fall off and drown the day before. Onto the next village to catch a boat. Walking requires hiking shoes for very steep, rough and narrow trails. Not for anyone with a heart condition or who doesn't have good balance. Be sure to visit the cemeteries high above the villages. The wine and pastries are amazing!

Sounds amazing. I wish we could join you, but our travel plans are already set for the remainder of the year.

I am envious! My favorite place!!! I am dying to go back there. You must do a swim into one of the grottos.....simply amazing. I could eat pizza every day in Italy...nothing like it is here.

Well, despite all the cheerleading from those who have been there, we were unable to get a third person to join us so we have decided that trip wasn't meant to be this time. So we've decided to do Montreal/Quebec City instead. I've never been there so I am looking forward to it!

Oh, too bad about Amalfi this time but Montreal is beautiful and I just spent a few days there last month. Great exchange rate, good food, very relaxed pace and lots of arts events and things to do. Quebec City is charming too.
