There will be no photos to illustrate this problem! I was cheered when I first read about higher rises coming back in style until about a year ago when I bought a couple of pairs, including some Paige Hoxtons at the NAS.

The problem: my hips and butt are relative straight, which in the past meant at times I've had to have skirts taken in at side seam. As the years pass, despite efforts, my belly has enlarged. Jeans especially just slide down my lower body. A tight belt helps, but is annoying.

Many pants and jeans with a higher waist assume a more hourglass shape, and with the higher cut, they curve inward. So a 29 in a lower or mid cut might fit me fine, but when that waistline rises and curves inward, my body doesn't. If I go up a size, I've got baggy pants.

So I've worked on losing weight and exercised more and see an improvement overall. I still can't get those Hoxton's to zip up without doing the 60s trick of lying on the bed, and decided to send them to a new home.

I generally do well with Joe's Jeans, but don't think I have any higher rise pairs. Also NYDJ, but I bought a sale pair online and similar problem--they fit overall and are too tight to be comfortable.

Have any of you with a similar shape found a brand or cut that works better for you?
