The clothes are great, the short haircuts, too. How I wish I could find a pair of those plain green army fatigue pants we wore in the 70s! They were the most comfortable and flattering pants ever--along with the navy woolen button-front bellbottoms we wore in Winter. We bought them both at the surplus store: cheap, cute and indestructible.

Fatigues! Actress Mackenzie Davis as Cameron wears them in many iterations, often rumpled with creases around the crotch, and somehow always looks great. I am smitten with the look.

And yes, tulle, the hair. I love the short looks best but one of my favorite things about the show is watching that character grow out her hair roots and all. It is gloriously unkempt, but she is beautiful and the progression is fascinating to watch . You have to be young to pull this off, I think.

A couple more thoughts about the hair . . . In Season One the short-haired blonde, Cameron, is the definition of fierce - brilliant, sexy, androgynous, impervious-seeming - her presence, the way she presents herself, intimidates just about everyone.

As the show progresses, the way the viewer's perception of who she is changes very much along with the look of her hair. As the hair grows out her look becomes unkept, leaving the character appearing more vulnerable, feminine and far less powerful/intimidating. I thought that was interesting.
