I'm going to my High School reunion this Saturday. I'm wearing a white dress, kind of a Marilyn Monroe style-kind of dressy but not over the top. I am planning to wear strappy, gold leather platforms, funky gold earrings and an armful of various gold bangles.

My question is what purse? I have a small gold, pebble leather hobo, but that just seems too "matchy-matchy." It's a pretty sexy dress, so I don't want to look too prissy. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am trying to think but this is a really good question. Off the top of my head, I'm wondering if a grey shade might work? Perhaps a grey clutch? Or do you want something with straps?

Do you have a clutch in a bright color? Almost anything would go with the white and gold. Just make sure the bag has an "evening" look to compliment the dress. Have a wonderful time!

Agrace, I think I want a strap. I talk with my hands too much for a clutch an definitely don't want to talk with the hand holding my drink:). Gray is a thought. I'll have to see what's out there. Thanks!

Cookie, I have a bright purple clutch, but unfortunately it has silver on it. I've kind of been thinking about a bright color. I'm not a real hand bag kind of gal, so I could definitely stand to purchase something. Thanks for the idea and also wishing me fun. I'm a tiny bit nervous.

Thanks everyone for your advice and support! I'm going to look for a bright clutch, although probably not satin.

I will try to post a picture. I'm pretty new to this post, and I'm not sure about how to post photos. Perhaps I'll do a quick blog post and give the link. There's a great story behind this dress, too. I was doing a friend's book study group for the book, called Creating Money by Sanaya Roman. We were supposed to work on manifesting something. I needed a white dress for a gala, concentrated on it for a long time, and immediately found it at White House Black Market, and it fit perfectly. It was such a thrill. And I've actually had the dress about 4 years and have worn it a lot. It always flatters, whether I'm in a fit or unfit phase.

Thanks everyone for your nice compliments! I found a red clutch at Macy's. It's perfect, and I especially like that while it is dressy, it's not satin. I actually think I'll get a lot of use out of it. (Funny, I don't really wear red all that much.)
