I'm sure I've talked here before about chocolate brown and how the last few cycles of it never trickled down into plus sizes. This most recent cycle did yield some dark browns for me (hurray!) and that caused me to re-up my quest for true chocolate brown shoes.
I found these by new to me designer Marc Joseph on the Nordstrom site. Reviews said they ran up to a full size small and I need a bit of room to accommodate the wider balls of my feet so I took a chance on one of the last remaining sizes, a full size up from my normal size, since they were out of my size and a half size up. And they fit! And they're comfortable. And they're just what I wanted - a wingtip Oxford with a bit of modern flair via the moderate lug sole. I think they're prettier in person
This morning I had a grand try on with various wardrobe items that had been wanting a dark brown shoe friend and it all worked splendidly. I then branched out and tried them with a brick red dress, which when I topped it with an ivory cardigan with brown buttons, was a fun combination. They also look good with the olive green, burgundy and denim bottoms in my closet of course.
Now I just need to find a chocolate brown indoor weight topper. Always something to hunt for! This search took me several years, but I was as Angie says, PPP: picky, practical and patient.
