I had been searching for the perfect tote for a long time (like many on this forum). I finally found the one that suits my requirements:

1) Lots of internal divisions of varying sizes and shapes to organize my belongings
2) Real leather
3) Structured on its own (i.e. no floppy sides)
4) Comfortable, roomy yet lightweight
5) And of course good-looking
6) In caramel, cognac, or light brown
7) With some sort of closure up top

I ended up getting a Cole Haan Celia in Cognac at DWS (using up some rewards and discount, it ended up being only $105, which is a ridiculous steal for a leather brand-name tote of this size).

I have worn it for a week and couldn't be happier. Although it's substantial, structured, and big, and not exactly featherweight on its own, it feels surprisingly lightweight on my shoulders even when packed with things including my laptop. It must be the construction, shape, and position of the straps--they know what they are doing!

It has a protective zippered pocket right in the middle for laptops and tablets, surrounded by two roomier sections; each of the roomy sections has smaller pockets, slots, and compartments (some with a zipper) to fit phones, documents, pens, etc.

It is really beautiful in person. I love the rich texture of the leather grain and the color--I'd say it's more of a deep toffee than a cognac or caramel. I'm petite and this tote is quite big, but I don't think it looks too overwhelming on my person.

I'm one of those people who carry a lot of stuff everyday and I couldn't be happier to do it in a more elegant and comfortable way than before.

Note: I also considered the Madewell Medium Transport (Find 2 below) and the Cuyana Zippered Tote (Find 3) for their rave reviews, gorgeous leather, and beautiful color options, but ultimately voted against them because they don't have many internal divisions and compartments, and are not structured on their own. (I did spot someone with a Madewell recently and it does look beautiful in person; a little more delicate and petite than the Cole Haan. If my budget allowed for it, I'd consider it as a second option in a different color.)
