I used to have a camelhair jacket from Orvis and loved it except I knew it was sized too big, as I am often sized out of some of their items, and shoulder pads too big, but I was not paying as much attention to that a few years ago. I set it free a couple of years ago.

I knew I loved the fabrication, and the color was JFE and very versatile--camel for me works best in fabrications that are rich and interesting, so I thought I one day might get another, though did not actually "search" for one.
Recently got a Talbot's catalog in the mail, and there was a camelhair jacket !

But....it was sold out in all sizes below 10. To me it seemed new to online and catalog, but they said it's not a new item. Funny.

But...I did an online chat and the SA found one in a B&M store, so I called them up and had it sent.

Here it is, and I think I am keeping, but have not "cut tags" because I have only tried it with one or 2 bottoms since it's so hot, and I intend to put it through more paces just to feel sure, so it's okay if critiques are offered!

It reads maybe more conservative than absolutely necessary, and I might have liked a bit more snappy look--I prefer a squared off jacket front compared to rounded. but actually don't get to be that picky all the time--but then I also would not be interested in a "trendy" camelhair jacket. The fit is very good for me for a jacket--shoulders are on target, shoulder pad is small and soft, and I think they have those Gaylene sleeve-cap-thingies; sleeve length is good without alterations.

The texture is nice, and I think by being "not corporate" (meaning, not a suiting fabric) I can wear it in winter with work skirts and pants and also with jeans--it can be tossed over quite a few outfits and colors.Color is interesting because I wear so much gray in tops and pants that I can't always use a gray blazer in winter! I think will be wearable for some years.

Perhaps this sounds not super-love--I think that's partly my nature in analyzing things to death. But blazer fits are very hard for me with small shoulders and pear shape, and to work with both pants and skirts is important for this item, so I think it ticks some good boxes.

Any comments and suggestions welcome.
