I finally have to ask... What in the world does HEWI stand for? I have figured out based on context that it is a wardrobe item that you've been looking for, but it is driving me crazy that I can't understand what the letters stand for! Would someone enlighten me? Since Google doesn't know, I am guessing that YLF has a private language that I haven't completely learned yet...

Thanks, Deborah! That is helpful. It has been fun to try to figure some of them out along the way, and most make sense if I stop and think about them, but this one just baffled me!

Thanks Una! I went to the Pinterest board that you linked to from that post and it was such a great visual on the UWP look (I feel so accomplished using a new-to-me acronym!!). I think that is a REALLY cool look... And one that I could never pull off. One of the best things about YLF is getting to appreciate so many looks without having to wear something that would make me not feel like me. And at the same time, it is teaching me to look at smaller elements that I might not have thought to incorporate into a look that is me.

Totally. Natalie does a great job of incorporating UWP into her very matchy/feminine persona. Take what you like, right? Extreme looks are fun but sometimes "a little dab'll do ya". It was so much fun to reread that thread!

...and thank you to all of you who replied pointing us noobs in the direction of the acronym dictionary. I thought I was pretty up-to-speed on web lingo acronyms, and some of the YLF lingo was easy to figure out (e.g. WIW, WIB) but a few of these were making me crazy trying to figure out!

ETA: and thanks to this lovely thread I know know ETA actually stands for Edited to Add, NOT Estimated Time of Arrival. Yay!!!

also, alaskagirl, I'm a huge fan of UWP style. The pinterest board captures it quite nicely. I don't go that full-blown style route everyday but you can usually find shades of it (studs or spikes anyone?) throughout the majority of my outfits.
