Hepl me decide - black boots - YouLookFab Forum

During the winter I live in black boots. I need one pair for work and one pair for weekends. My current boots are more than 5 years old and scuffed beyond the repair so I have decide to replace them. For work it is relatively easy - I dress safe, classic and boring, so I have selected the boots accordingly;) They are almost the same as my current pair. I usually wear 3-7 cm heels, can not do flats but can not do stilettos either.

My problems starts with my weekend pair. I want to be more daring, but also still be practical. I have selected few possible options but need help in deciding which one to order. My first choice is:

I know the brand, already have some shoes from them, quality and fit is OK. Most safe choice.

I am intrigued. Never owned the pair of docs. But I have a few questions and doubts: Can I tuck in? Can I wear them with skirts AND pants? Are they age appropriate for the 40+ ?

I like the wedge heel. But maybe more interesting in the other color choice?

Of the casual options you posted, I really like the Airsteps. That's a beautiful boot. I know you want a black boot, but the camel option in the Airstep is absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't already have enough boots, I'd be all over that one.

I love the Docs too, and you can certainly tuck in your pants legs and wear them with pants and skirts. Wearing Docs at 40+? Of COURSE you can.

That said, I've recently ordered and returned two pairs of Docs (both lace-up boot styles). I found them to put too much pressure on the top of my foot for comfort. However, I know many other members of this forum have Docs, love them and find them extremely comfortable.

I also vote for the airstep....it is 100% cute, casual and sure not to be a serious challenge to your style, judging from the work boot you chose. The docs are much more casual and require a little more guts I think, ...he he ...well punk, you got the guts

the wedges are also a sure bet and the last a little cowboy which is a classic!

Let's see...I really like #3 for a somewhat different, but still, safe option. I love it when the ladies here wear the docs, but if it is too drastic for you, you may not wear them. Also, a wedge ( I find ) is uber comfy.

Thank a lot. I just completed my order. So Airstep it is. If they don't work out for some reason I will order the wedges next. I will skip Docs. You don't know me yet but you read me well - they are too drastic for me, seems difficult to style and I will probably feel silly and end up not wearing them.

Well, my boots have arrived. Work boots are great and I am keeping them, but I have already returned the casual pair. They were not really comfortable, they were size too big and just not looking right on me. Now I am contemplating Docs again. Should I order them just for fun, to satisfy my curiosity? Other Docs owners, how do you feel about them? Are you wearing them often, in which outfits and situations?
