Are those pants the EF color "russet"? If so, I just today bought the skirt, slim crepe pants and a sheer open knit assymetrical sort of poncho, all in this color. I tried them on with a light grey top and also brought some pieces of EF ash into the dressing room. The russet looks so go with greys!
To get to your question, I like the wide pants at the present length but they could also be shortened if you prefer. I love your styling ad think you will have many outfits from the pants that will be great for California. If I run across those wide pants, I will try them now that I've seen how great they look.
