How can you tell if weight loss is permanent (or at least semi-permanent), or if it's just a short-term thing? I measured my waist yesterday and it is the smallest it has been in my entire adult life at 24.5". That's great and all--but it does mean the waistband in a lot of my jeans and pants doesn't fit anymore. I am reluctant to alter because I am VERY attached to my premium denim collection and planned to get at least 10 years out of it. But short term it's kind of annoying that my jeans keep sliding around and I have to adjust them every time I stand up. I bought this in the meantime but it's a little awkward and I'm afraid it might just be stretching and distorting my jeans even more:

Part of the reason for the loss is probably stress, but part of it is also just from the fact that I'm much more active, so it's hard for me to say whether this is how it is from here on out, or if I'll go back to normal. As I said, I have never been this small before so part of me feels a bit suspicious.
