Help with Mother's Day outfit!

So my sisters and I are pitching in to get our lovely Mum a nice outfit for Mother's Day.
We have been sold on this skirt for quite some time

My mom has so much black for her workwear, and we wanted to help her brighten things up a bit. I also got her a necklace last Mother's Day that is a super pale shell/pink color. It's medium sized beads at a fairly short length.

The problem is the top. I'd love to get a light chambray for it, but she can't wear anything even close to denim for work (she works at a bank).

So I thought, hm. How about an oxford?

But is that too much pink?
This would be so much less complicated if she could wear denim to work.
BTW, she has nude shoes.

I love the skirt and pairing it with a sleeveless or short-sleeved white top! There are a lot of different colors in that skirt that you could use for the cardigan, so I don't think you're limited to pink. The hard part will be finding cardigans in shades that match the skirt. Can you go to a Talbots store and see which cardigans match it?

what about the yellow or brown cardigan... either of those colors look like they would work nicely with the skirt.

and yes, the pink would be too much pink in one outfit.

Sarah, I have a friend who has been stalking this skirt and she wants to try it with a black woven top. I don't think her top is available any longer, but what about something like this in black or white:

I don't know your mom, but I'm speaking as a person who also wears too much black.

I wear it because I like, not because it's safe, or to hide, for me it's a sexy color and I would panic if someone gave me a pink skirt and a pink blouse.. take baby steps, maybe the skirt with a black or a navy top?

I think they had the daffodil paired with a dress that was almost the same print but definitely the same colors and it looked really good.

I love that skirt, but I do think a pink cardi would be too much pink. What about the cardi in vermillion?A white top is another good idea. What a lucky mommy!

Thank you so much for your comments! I do agree that all pink is just too much.
My mom does actually like feminine colors, black is usually just on sale. So we wanted to treat her to something she would never buy for herself.
I think we'll go for that skirt, a crisp white button down (and teach her to pop the collar!) and maybe a beige cardigan like this

She's an inverted triangle and apple (not sure which is stronger), and rather busty.
