Help with Homecoming?

Hello, I'm Caitlin! I'm trying to pick out a dress for Homecoming for my Sophmore year since I didn't go Freshman year!

I'm unsure of what colors would suit me, the lengths, and everything like that. So, I'd appreciate if anyone could help?

My figure is a spoon so I have a bit of a stomach. My measurements are 36" Bust, 30" Waist, 39.5" Hips. I have brown eyes and hair, which hardly reaches my shoulder blades. I also have a bit of a tan, but not a deep one. I stand at 5'3" ft./5'4" ft.

What state are you in? I ask because I'm from California and we notoriously underdress for everything. I think something with a full skirt would be nice, length depending on level of formality of the occasion. Maybe something leaning towards the green-blue range...

Oh and messaged you on Instagram My account is so old all my pics got wiped out during one of the buyouts...

Hello! It's rather basic; Homecoming is to be held at our high school during a Saturday after the homecoming football game, seeing that we're a pretty small place! I'm unsure of the theme, but it'll consist of dancing, games, and the crownings of queens and kings.

Our dress code is somewhat conservative? I live in the eastern part of Kentucky, frankly. We're dress coded to have nothing four inches above the knee, but I'm unsure of whether that applies to this event. I'm personally far from ultra-conservative morals and tastes myself. Though, I'm open to any possible suggestions about anything?

I think it really varies from school to school, so I'd start by finding out what the rules are and asking some of the older girls what they wore last year, even though styles can change. You should also think about whether you want to stand out for an interesting detail or color or style, whether you want to be in the mix or on the edge style wise. How do you want to feel and how do you want to be perceived? Will you be wearing this dress/ skirt/top/pants again, but perhaps styled differently? How many of these dress up occasions will you have this year? By the time you graduate? And how much do you want to spend?

After you have found out more and made some of these decisions it will be easier to decide what to wear.

Now I'm going to "Mom" you. I would suggest that sometimes some girls show too much at these events. It can bring attention, but the wrong kind, and doesn't usually attract the type of people one should be in a relationship with. And watch for spiked drinks, etc.

You are so pretty! I like you in the peachy / pink. And I stand by the idea of a greenish blue. Or perhaps a dusty blue. Something that reveals the shoulders. A fit and flare dress maybe... For Kentucky, I think pretty rules. Out here there'd be a lot of ghetto fab, and I should think not. Oh - and kitten heels
