Help with glasses

On my bucket list before the baby comes--choose new glasses. Do any of these stand out to you? Or, if not, are there certain directions you could recommend? I currently wear rimless "silhouettes". I like them, but I would also like to have a back-up pair and something a little more "fun". I can't wear contact.

I like #3 the best cause I like the dark rims look. If you find them too dark, then I also really like #4 for a softer look, and the shape suits you well.

3 and 4 look the best to me. The other ones are not bad, but just don't seem to be 10's.

I have to say I'm not a fan of #3. When I look at the pictures I see the specs before I see you! I like the shape, but I think the black is too heavy. Do they have them in other colors? I really love #2, followed by #4. I like how #2 looks with your features and the color is lovely next to your hair and skin. Although I often differ when it comes to glasses, so I may well be alone with my opinion.

I really like nr 3 , but I know what you'll feel going from rimless to them, as I couldn't do it for my own self (am a flexible titan wire Sillouttes wearer, too-and was a pain to see my eyes framed that thick and dark-but I am a low contrast face, light blonde with very thin and fine hair, and blue eyes...)
BTW I think your face and hair can support that frame well. They are a bit geeky, and needs kind of personality for them, too-so you'll have to think about-but lokking good, interresting, and current.

Astrid, that is exactly what my husband says--that he sees the glasses #3 more than he sees me. I did like the shape though. #6 is the same shape but a different color, but still not the best for me, I think, although they are funky/fun. I also felt best in the colors of #2, but am not sure if the lower part is too round for my face.

Lyn67, yes I was attracted to those glasses, but just like you say I am not sure I could really feel comfortable in the harsh black.

I think 2, 5 and 7 all look nice. Of course 2 is personal preference and what I would like to wear myself. 5 is more traditional and subdued and 7 is fun and kind of geeky. You look like Rosanna Arquette : )

Without a doubt - #2. Hands down and no contest. KILLER. The best colour, shape, lift and face framing of the lot by about a billion percent.

And yay!!! I have been waiting to go specs shopping with you.

FWIW, #3 is far too harsh for your delicate and pale features, and the rest of the specs lack the spunk that you so clearly emulate.

#2!!!!! I agree 100% with Angie's assessment! Those look super flattering and super chic & modern (funny they look so modern, because they are really pretty classic, if that makes any sense...).

#2! Then #7.

#2 looks SO good with your coloring. They are both delicate enough for your features and feisty enough for your style. They really open up your eyes. Love them.

Just as a side note, I recently replaced my glasses, going from rimless "silhouettes" to plastic tortoise shell. It was a really big change for me and took some time to get used to, but now I feel so good in them. I feel it has updated my entire look.

Angie, actually, number 2 and number 5 are my faves, but 5 actually looks so similar to my current glasses, just with a bit of rim, that there isn't so much point in changing. Actually the fact that you are so enthusiastic about 2 put a big smile on my face. I was a little uncertain if the shape was okay, but since you think so, I feel reassured. I really like the color--it feels really right to me and the scale also feels good. I have a narrow face, and it can be tricky. Mr. Scarlet hates change Therefore his favorite is 5 because he calls them a "transitional look" to something more different. Yes, he cracks me up. So in your opinion the buck could stop here? I know you hinted for a long time I could address my specs, so I want to do it right now that I am taking the plunge.

Jonesy, I am so glad you like 2 also and think they look chic and modern, because honestly the shape is so similar to something I wore a good 12 years ago that it gave me pause. But those old glasses were black and never really looked that good on me because they were so harsh. I just liked the shape. SO, much reassured here.

I'm late to reply, but # 2 really does stand out. I like 7 as well. I wear glasses too and the right pair makes all the difference - like jewelry for your face!

Citygirl, thanks. I think you have a bold look that can really pull off those styles well. I am attracted to them too.

I actually really liked 4 and 5 as well, but the materials--brushed metal in subtle color--doesn't really show up well in a photo like this, I think. Oh well, I think I am going to go with the tortoiseshell (2) because I always wanted that but have never found the right glasses in all these years.
