Help with dressing tip

I have a bday party I need to attend next week. And I have this top just sitting in my closet for years. I love the Colors and I have accessories to go with the top. Now the only issue is I don't know what type of jeans to wear or skirt. And then I dont like sleeve less. So I don't know how to cover it up, use cardigan? Or some shirt below the top?

Please I need advices from you fashionistas. I am on the heavy side, 5.4, may be diamond shaped.

I can see the top with skinny dark denim jeans, no fading or distressing to keep the attention on the top; or slim black ankle or cigarette pants for a bit dressier look. i'm picturing red or white heels.

I like Joy's suggestion of slim pants for a bottom. For a cover-up since you don't like sleeveless, you could try a very lightweight, gauzy cardigan. I have the one below and wear it lots for this very purpose. It comes in other colors besides black. White would look good for your top.
