Help with dressier pants (than I'm used to) and wedding guest wear

I've picked up a couple of pairs of work pants--not jeans. I need to get the full length Logans hemmed (even though they're the "short" inseam.) These need to not quite graze the ground--like bootcuts, right? The other two are Sloans--they both fit differently even though they're the same size. Can you wear mules with these? (They look a little snug but I promise you they were falling down by 10 am.)

The last two photos are potential wedding guest dresses--for an outdoor, casual California wedding with mostly people younger than me. Terrain is uneven and these are the only two sandals I have that will work. Do you have a preference? (White isn't a problem in case that's a concern.)

ETA: or the Halogen dress from NAS? With the black danskos? Or does that look too work-ish?

The first pair of trousers are KILLER after a slight hack as you suggested.

Not in love with the Sloans. I vote return both pairs.

All four dresses are AMAZING. Can’t go wrong with any of them, or either pair of sandals.

Thanks, Angie! At least I got one pair right! DD#2 might be able to wear the Sloans. They were final sale--for a song, at least! Ahh, such a relief on the dresses. I guess I'll see how I feel and what the weather is like. Great to have options. Thank you!!!

Angie knows best on pants, so I won't weigh in there, but fwiw I especially love the third dress shown for a wedding ... Although I agree they are all gorgeous on you! And Kelly, your arms!! #goals for me

I own a few pairs of the Sloan's and I get my hemmed so they are crops. Since they are final sale you might try shortening them to see if you like them better. The black lace midi is my favorite, but all the dresses are really cute.

I really like the first pair of trousers but would shorten them a smidgen.The lace dress would be my choice for the wedding.

I like your NAS dress or the third one best but any would work. They look festive but not too much so. I like the black Danskos.

I like either of the dresses in pic #5, with a slight preference for the lace one. They all fit really well and flatter you, so you really couldn’t go wrong. How nice to be spoiled for choice!

Thanks so much, Fabbers! I had great luck at BR with these dresses--worn for graduations, weddings and dinners out. The black floral midi is a fave--depending on the weather, I'll probably opt for that or the white eyelet.
@Molly Mac: Great idea to try cropping the Sloans. I'll pin them up and see if they look better. If not, I'll see if my daughter wants them.

The first pair of pants are gorgeous on you. That is your silhouette! All the dresses look terrific although I wouldn't wear a white dress to a wedding - isn't that still a thing? I think either the second black dress or the third with the higher neck, but you know California casual much better than me!

You look gorgeous as ever, trousers are a good look on you too. I love dress #3 (so first dress in pic 5) for the wedding - but all dresses are beautiful. You look gorgeous in white, but given you have other options for the wedding, I would steer clear of it even if it would not upset the bride.

The Logans look great on you!! I actually also like the Sloans in pic 2 on you, but I might be partial since I wear my Sloans a ton. Not as crazy about the ones in 3. So strange about the variation in fit - I would never guess that 3 is a Sloan!

All of the dresses look fantastic on you and I like both of the sandals you’ve chosen. I just love the navy (?) and white floral dress on you in 5, but you will look fab no matter which one you choose!

All the dresses look fantastic so I would wear which you like - I would err to the lace because it is a bit dressier whereas the white floral and cerise I see being easier to wear for work or weekend BBQ etc

I like the first pair of pants and the last 2 dresses most!

I'm curious what exactly Angie is not loving about the Sloans - the length? the fit otherwise? I'm wondering because I have a lot of varieties of Sloans, and they fit me similarly to how they fit you.

I like all of the dresses especially the white eyelet and the left dress in picture 5. I would wear the tan ankle strap sandals over the black slides though, they look dressier but not formal (for a casual wedding).

I actually like the idea of the white dress for a wedding outdoors when you know the bride doesn't mind others wearing white. You could easily wear any of them - but I kind of like the white or one of the midi dresses. The first pants look amazing on you too!

Lucky you, to have so many great options! The black lace dress does seem to be the winner but you can't go wrong here.
