Help with dress at Nordie's half year sale

I'm checking out this Karen Kane:

It's short enough that I think it would work for me. The top is a flattering shape for me. I'm just a little concerned about the gathering in the middle. Is this going to look like a maternity dress on an apple?

Any help would be appreciated!

I adore this dress. And I know that it drapes well.

It really depends on how you feel about "looking pregnant" when you're not - and I hope that didn't come out insensitively. It's a matter that comes up with my clients almost each time we shop! Some ladies are more aware of this kind of aesthetic than others.

Not that you will look pregnant. Does that make sense?

Thanks QM, It's not close to me - it would be a half day trip to get there and back. I'd prob just suck up the shipping if I needed to return. It is worth it for the convenience.

The dress is pretty but I find dresses in these materials tend to cling everywear.

Hi Angie, THIS is my biggest fit challenge, not being petite! I think I'm going to pass, the draping is scaring me a bit.
