Help with bootie choice

I haven't posted for a long time, but have gotten better from health issues and am thinking more about fashion again.

I'm visiting in the US and am trying to find some booties. I found these by Vince Camuto and are a taupe-y grey. I guess I'm trying to figure out if they are a good choice. They fit really well, but bit the front of my shin. Is that common with booties?

I guess that the truth is... Although I love shoes, I have the hardest time picking boots.

I like the booties, they are a smart casual option. I would not compromise om comfort though, if they pinch I would find something else.

Big fan of gray booties and like the look of this pair especially. The side view does reveal why your shin is suffering as the shaft of the bootie doesn't go straight up, but angles toward your shin. That would be a sad deal breaker for me. I have narrow ankles and finding booties that aren't too "clunky" is tricky. The sleek fit here is tempting.

Gray booties are major work horses for me, and the simplicity of those adds versatility. I'd try to keep the good features in a pair that fits comfortably. Unless the leather is super soft (almost like a heavy fabric), continued problems seem likely.

These booties are great, but if they pinch that would be a deal breaker for me. Check out some other VC styles. They make some very comfortable footwear, but if these aren't it, I'd pass.

Don't suffer for fashion. I really like those boots, but like others have said, search for more comfortable boots if those pinch.

Thanks for the advice! It's so tempting to keep them, but you are right that I shouldn't if they are uncomfortable!

Think of it this way. You won't be wearing them very much if they hurt your feet.

I agree, but the only thing I'd add is that I've had some leather shoes whose stiffness eases up quite a bit on the first wearing. I don't know if the leather is too stiff and too tight to do that here, but if it seems like a little breaking in might eradicate the problem I'd wear them indoors for an hour just to see if it goes away.

you might try wear thick socks or socks with padding right where it bites...ski socks?...to help break it in.
